Dissappear to dissolveA Poem by Sujan
Disappear Like This
I must disappear like this Flowing like a river, Drifting like the wind, Falling like a flower after its bloom. Perhaps, to meet myself, I too must keep moving Softly, endlessly. I must vanish, silently, silently... Wrapped in emptiness, An innocent night awakens in darkness. Street lamps stand shameless, indifferent By the roadside Mute witnesses to the world’s forgetting. Cigarette smoke scatters, Dissolving into the cosmos The cosmos itself Absorbing all existence. And while everything disappears, I too must disappear. Hail falls from the sky, Melts into the womb of the earth. The earth, quietly, Cradles the sun’s burning flame Within her depths. So who am I? The one searching for identity? The one struggling To find meaning in this world? I must soothe the tides within me With love Not build my existence, But feel it. Perhaps now, I must disappear To awaken, I must dissolve. O world, You keep on struggling through the ages While I, in the womb of the cosmos, Shed this sleeplessness And awaken. © 2025 SujanReviews
