Streets

Streets

A Poem by Sujash I. Purna
"

from gardens of hopes to the streets of emptiness...I search for the flower that is lost in the jaundiced street-lights...

"

From the swishing leaves, flapping wings,

I tendered my dreams

Slowly like a gardener

Yet I hate though I won’t give in

A true grudging gardener

With no real flower to bloom

Flowers keep me awake, no real ones,

Those in dreams of mine…

I flatten my reality, I flatter my dreams

Yet I hate though I won’t give in

They say I take shelter in the rainy days

Home underneath where I’ll be sweet and save

But Dreams haunt me

I run a run so vague

I run a run so vain

I stay out, see jaundice lights in streets,

They remind me of my dreams

Yet they leave me grudging

Grudging in vain,

Though I hate, I won’t give in...

A very strong poem. Took me to the street and brought me into the story in the poem.
"I stay out, see jaundice lights in streets, "
Than you for a excellent poem.

Another inspired, beautiful poem.

I found this powerful and sweet. The descriptions give a deserted land soiled by power, and then there stands you proud and tall ready to bring back life.
