Manipulation

My senses aren't trustworthy anymore,
Real and Fake, Truth and Lie,
No way to tell them apart!

The best of the best machiavellians,
performing a well rehearsed show for me,
The show is engaging, entertaining.

What I learnt, what I believed,
were all lies, they say;
Truth is today, they say;

When tomorrow, today becomes yesterday,
Today's truths become yesterday's lies;
And a new Truth is born,
Their truth becomes my truth,
and their lies, mine.

Am I really watching this show?
Or am I the show?
sedated, hypnotised I lay,
I have rented out my senses,
but my mind is still occupied!!

It is '1984', It always has been,
It always will be!
