Self Worth

Self Worth

A Poem by Sumo

I once was alive but now I'm dead
So far behind now so far ahead

Once so full of life, now all drained away
I'm so lost, tired to being led astray

I'm learning only to listen to myself
That I have worth, I'm not bottom shelf

No longer being influenced by any other
In time, I'll heal, in time I'll recover

Doing what is right in my mind
Following my heart, praying one day it'll be returned in kind

I must stay strong in my search
No matter how much what you did hurts

There has to be someone that will truly care
Someone who wants to be there

Through the bad times and the good ones
We all march to the beat of our own drums

Music moves us as we sway back and forth
Finally on the right path, on course

Loyal and honest, providing support for one another
A relationship finally like no other
