Tortured Minds

Tortured Minds

A Poem by Sumo

She is thinking with an intoxicated and confused mind
She removes things in her life so that they don't remind

She wants what she can't have and can't have what she wants
So she spends her time, pushing with elaborate stunts

She's unable to accept the happiness offered
She attempts to act as if she's not even bothered

She will realize the loss of a great man
That did all out of love because that's who I am

She will attempt to regain that which was tossed aside
It's then I'll have to think and decide

Am I ready to risk what little she left of me
Will it be enough to make her happy

I gave all of me, I almost forfitted my life
When at one time all I wanted was to make her my wife

Only time has the answers I seek
Will this second chance end my streak

The pain spread throughout the family
All of which meant a lot to me

The innocent child Torn from my arms
An innocent bystander, that should have been free from harm

Lies and misconception, the truth unknown
The remnants left of a broken home

Its sad how problems can cause pain for all those innocent people
that just want happiness
but i also believe that the only true measure of strength and faith
is to smile through it all
and to make sure children remain in that happy world by joining them ..... and telling oneself
only fools live in misery
life is beautiful only for those who make that choice

to be happiness

nice write
made me think so much

Luckily children are resilient for the most part. I appreciate your kind words.
