Void

Void

A Poem by Sumo

Words have become the space between us
The very expressions that originally bound our lust

Now an ever growing chasm of emotional turmoil
Hatred looms above us like a gargoyle

Pride swells while our hearts buckle from the pain
Our once fertile ground tainted by this acid rain
All we had, now washed away

Drenched in tears I turn my cheek
Hope forever expired cause we no longer speak
Head once held high, now lowered and meek

Darkness my new home
My unwelcome abode, where I live alone
Light a stranger in these places not shown

Blindly I now stumble through life
Desperate outstretched arms searching to find a way to bring peace to my troubled mind at the loss of my wife
