One-handed Controller, Joy-Con, and A Lot Of Consoles!A Poem by SurfpupIt rhymes, and it’s a very big one!
I still like controllers quite a lot,
Especially the smaller ones I’ve got. But many are often too big for me, Since I only play with one hand, you see. There are many controllers I could install, But honestly, I don’t use most of them at all. Two-handed controllers are hard for me to use, And they don’t really give me many to choose. Controllers with buttons on the back Are something my setup seems to lack. They aren’t useful for the way I play, So I need a small controller that works my way. I use a left one-handed controller instead, Because my right hand has no feeling, as I said. My fingers there cannot really feel at all, So I rely on the left side to answer the call. I once tried a large one-handed controller before, But it wasn’t something I really adore. Instead I use a Joy-Con controller today, And it fits my hand in a much better way! I also bought a Joy-Con rail to hold it tight, And for a while it worked just right. But over time it started to drift, So I had to replace it pretty swift. I don’t like moving the controller around, So I adjust it so it stays firmly bound. I also use adapters here and there, Though most of them just sit as spare. Some need to be held down tight So I can play my games just right. One setup used a webcam mount, And it was tricky, no small amount. Sometimes the webcam slips away, And I must adjust it again to play. I have many consoles now, it’s true, So let me tell their stories to you. I bought a PlayStation 2 long ago, And I still have it, as you may know. I played Final Fantasy X with pride, And beat the game by its journey’s side. I also had memory cards to save the day, Back when that was the normal way. But now it’s hard for me to recall Things from 2013 and before at all. Later I bought a PlayStation 3, And played Final Fantasy X again happily. But the final boss stopped my run, And beating it has yet to be done. Sometimes I restart on consoles anew, Hoping the victory will finally come through. One day I know I will win that fight, And defeat that final boss at last in sight. Then I bought a PlayStation 4, But the controller was hard to use once more. So I bought a one-handed controller small, To make the gameplay easier overall. It works quite well, though not all the time, The analog stick needs fixing sometimes. It still needs repairs, that much is clear, Because it doesn’t always work very well here. So I also use my PC instead, With a huge game library ahead. On Steam I now have 1,112 games to see, Which is honestly crazy to me! I still play there now and then, Exploring different worlds again. I once bought an Xbox One to try, But these days I mostly let it lie. Then I bought a Nintendo Switch one day, And it works very well for the way I play. The SD card gives it extra space, Which helps my game library keep its place. I bought Ring Fit Adventure for fun and play, But my other hand struggled along the way. I played it for a while and it felt quite good, Though tight on my right hand where it stood. Later I had surgery on that hand, And now my fingers open as planned. But I’m not sure if I’ll play it again someday, We’ll just have to see how things go my way. These days I mostly buy games digital instead, Downloading them straight ahead. I’ve downloaded Final Fantasy X many times, Across consoles, systems, and gaming lines! Right now I have 84 games to play, Which is a lot in every way. Sometimes it’s hard to finish them all, With so many adventures waiting to call! Maybe someday I’ll start again strong, Perhaps with Hollow Knight: Silksong. I’ve beaten at least 8 bosses there, But the Last Judge fight is quite unfair. Now the challenge is harder to survive, Because hits now take two hearts from my life! I also bought a PlayStation 5, And ordered it late at midnight online. Best Buy approved it right away, Though I had to wait for delivery day. Now I use it all the time, Playing games whenever I find the time! I bought Demon’s Souls for the PS5 too, But the controller makes it hard to do. The PS5 controller is tough for me to hold, So I needed another solution bold. I searched online and soon I found A Cronus Zen that worked around! I installed the Windows app to map controls, Helping me reach my gaming goals. I like it a lot, it works quite well, And remapping buttons feels like a spell! Though strangely there’s no official app now, Which is a bit confusing somehow. So I mostly use the Joy-Con today, Because it works best for the way I play. Connecting the PS5 controller can be tough, But I wrote a guide if you need that stuff. You can find it on my website there, If you’re curious and want to share. I bought an Xbox Series S too, But I don’t use it like I used to do. Sometimes I bring it to Mommom’s place, Just to watch TV at a slower pace. Eventually I sold it at GameStop one day, And got some money back that way. I bought a few PS5 games to try, Some were good, some passed me by. One was Ghost of Yōtei to explore, But I didn’t like it very much anymore. The touchscreen features got in my way, And that’s not how I like to play. Since I use a Joy-Con instead of that screen, The feature didn’t work as it should have been. So I sold it on eBay before too long, And thankfully nothing went very wrong. I also bought Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, A remake that looked even neater. I played a little but not the whole game, Finishing it later is still my aim. I bought Trails in the Sky: First Chapter as well, But it didn’t really cast a spell. So once again on eBay it went, And that’s where the copy was sent. I also bought an Oblivion T-shirt with pride, With the Deluxe Edition ordered beside. But sadly the game never arrived that day, So I asked for a refund along the way. GameStop gave me a gift card instead, So I bought it digital as I had said. I bought Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition, but I played it on Steam instead. The story feels more advanced than on the PS5, though I’ve been lazy and haven’t played in a while, I must confess. Then I bought an Xbox Series X at last, A heavy beast built strong and fast. I beat Elden Ring and the DLC too, But Spirit Ashes help me make it through. Because playing solo is harder to do, So I use what tools help me push through! Anyway, that’s all for now from me, But I’ll come back again eventually! © 2026 Surfpup |
