THE BAGA Poem by Roger Turgeonwe all have some baggageThe Bag I brought a bag with me today It’s with me wherever I go It’s packed with pain and memories And things you don’t need to know The bag’s not sealed or firmly locked And the latch is loose and jiggles The only thing that keeps it closed Are your sweet words and giggles I’ve had this bag for a while now It’s been opened once or twice It’s never pleasant to peek inside And roll the emotional dice Over the years I’ve added wheels To lighten the load and strain But the bag keeps growing larger Whenever I encounter pain I’d like to throw this bag away I think I can with your aid I’ve tossed the old pushbuttons And I’m no longer afraid My spirit is lighter already And my hearts no longer a mess Because I have you in my life This bag is at last excess © 2014 Roger TurgeonReviews
