I am not my senses

WHO AM I?

 

Who am I? I am not what I see

What I see is you alone and you are not me

Who am I? I am not what I hear

What I hear is just you and not me that’s clear

Who am I? I am not what I touch

I feel only you, do I touch you too much?

Who am I? I am not what I taste

I simply savor you, there is nothing to waste

Who am I? I am not what I smell

For the essence is you, there’s no more to tell

Who am I?  I am not what I think

Can you tell I’m in love? I ask with a wink

this one too I love ... within the simplicity many more words, images and feelings are easily conjured. I like the interesting twist and layout in which it has been written, certainly given me more to think on.

You know I'm never quite sure where a poem will go until its in writing. This poem was drafted much differently in my head.

It happens to me all the time. Haha. Sometimes I'm frustrated because the product is not the exact blueprint of my thoughts but sometimes I'm shocked to discover how I end up something better. ;)
