Chemical SleepA Poem by In Em's WonderlandThreatening half-quiet moments. I can hardly go anywhere outside my brain. Who could possibly sleep? To comfort myself, I lie in the bathtub shivered underneath fleece blankets. When the pills sing me to sleep, they often talk in symphonies to quell & quiet me. A swallowing silence despite echoes of my own heartbeat. My entire being began to shift immersed in the language of gurus drifting like wards. To vanish & return. But enough is never too much. This road never stops. Who can sleep with so many thoughts & ideas?
