Sphere of Light

The sun gives life to all...yet often we take its light and warmth for granted. This is a poem about how much the sun means to those who live in darkness and cold.

Sphere of light, do not disappoint

Bring back the warmth that was lost

Drive out the pain

Make us feel alive again

 

Long have we waited for you

Through the endless dark nights

Through the windswept streets of cold

Waiting for you, to behold

 

Sphere of light, wash away our sorrow

Shine upon our deepest nights of despair

Give us a new meaning in life

Reward us for our infinite strife

 

Give us light, give us warmth

Give us something to live for

Make the world a better place…

With meaning we shall live our days

 

Sphere of light, do not disappoint

We are waiting…

This was definately an experimental poem...I just thought of the first line and the rest of the poem sort of flowed into my head. Review away!
