Operatic Wings

She felt like Madam Butterfly;

As her heart fluttered with operatic wings

She allowed powers of the wind to carry her

To a place of an unknown destiny…

 

She soared above the cumulus clouds

A bewitching spell not to be broken;

A frantic delirious spell,

A liaison of passion and desire…

 

She danced in the breeze of the bamboo trees

But her lover yearned to be free;

He deserted starry night wings of love

Beneath the dagger of the glass…

For some reason this makes me think of a young woman's first experience with a mans betrayal. Maybe in an actual relationship or a brief passionate encounter. The butterfly comes away with the knowledge that the world isn't always kind to delicate creatures. Another beautiful work Rose!!
