Unanchored Moments

Lips of sunset kiss trade winds goodbye
ship of fools upon tides of lullaby
Unanchored moments adrift in the night
whispers navigate in sea of moonlight
Clinging seaweed upon a wistful branch
a tear still hoping for another chance
Soft echoes tangled in net of debris
washed away driftwood haunting blue sea's
 A coral heart filled with treasures of love
lost without a trace like scent of foxglove 
Tucked away somewhere in a surreal dream
castaway thoughts and shipwrecked moonbeams
 Sad thoughts tease at the mention of your name
love is the only sea creature to blame.

I looked for unanchored moments, but found
unanchored nostalgia. Memories adrift on a
sea of silken threads which bind the writer
to the one
Dozing late at night listening to the slap of halyards
on the mast and the foghorns booming on the reef as
a heavy mist lies anchoring us to our dreams.
We drift away in the arms of old love and then with
morpheus captured.
I love your poem. It is largely about old love , but it
always floats across the boats and out to sea for me.

You are right. Love has to be anchored , otherwise it will drift and float away into unchartered waters blown by the winds of uncertainty...A wonderful write...:)
