I wish we could have sailed the seven seas,

the whispering winds of eternity;

But a wish, is just a wish,

 lost within the red seaweed,

 and pink orchids of the deep blue sea~

I dream of you each time I close my eyes

and trace your image with my fingertips;

But a dream, is just a dream,

When the hand of an angel

brush paints a scene~

 A brilliant star in the sky 

 supernova bright,

but a star, is just a star;

 My eyes to adore from afar~

 You were my precious jewel

a fiery, blood-red ruby;

 flowing within my heart

but a jewel is just a jewel,

A moment to treasure,

till the end of time~

 I was a lustrous pearl,

but upon a strand of many.

the elegant charm of this is full of depth and gorgeous imagery. your wording is flawless and evokes many feelings. i love the line "i was a lustrous pearl but upon a strand of many" ...kinda points out the futility of competing for the love or affections of a rainbow pony......that elusive prize. absolutely stunning write, dear Rose!
