Scarlet Winds

His lonesome eyes of peacock blue
overflows her heart ~ a well of passion
reflecting
once upon a time when scarlet winds
strutted like stilettos over the back
of a secret affair

And burning lips of the moon
left a path of tantalizing kisses
over the shoulder of black lace

While a red rose
blossoms into a raging fire
flickering in the dark

~but~

A rose is just a rose until he kisses
her sculptured lips
Inviting strangers in paradise
as they become lost
within the fortress of eternal hearts.
