I wish I had something to say

but when I put the pen to paper

all the words go away

I wish i could make you believe

but all my faith has gone the way

of the last autumn leaves

I wish I could inspire change

but I like it how it is

and I'm set in my ways

I wish I could tie the knot

but I think I'm much happier

leading you on

I wish I could learn from the past
