Unnamed, Unending..A Poem by Sylvaine AetherwynA soul-drift through rain and silence , chasing a longing that may never be fulfilled —but must always be followed
Through the tunnel of time, in the bustle of life, I kept walking with the flow of this strange world. And one day, as i stopped , on a rainy afternoon"i suddenly heard a nostalgic whisper.. A whisper that felt unknown but yearningly known somehow.. like a forgotten familiar call from a distant yet close land. And as i follow it"i found myself completely lost somewhere in another realm beyond the bound of time, unmeasured by the ticking of clocks and the digits of calendars. Escorted by the wistful music of the rain, accompanied by the void hum of my soul" I let myself get drifted away with that exotic whisper, searching for something"something i could not name, but can't stop longing for it with every fiber of my being..
Maybe a place, a sanctuary" undisturbed by the mischief of time. Or perhaps an endless night in a faraway wood, surrounded by the soft, magical glow of fireflies and wrapped in the warmth of lingering silence. Or that thing might be a whole new world, untouched and unspoiled by the frail blossoms of the human garden..Or maybe the thing i long for simply doesn't exist in any corner of this boundless cosmos in the first place... Who knows..? Perhaps the insatiable longing is never meant to be sated to begin with.. perhaps, at the very outset , the heart's unquenchable tide was never destined to be stilled .. And as the thunderclap shattered the silence"i was pulled back to the present again, returning from the edge of my thoughts concluding nothing but vagueness in the end. The rain continues to fall"the ethereal voice mingling with the patter of the rain , telling things which are beyond my capacity.. yet i continued to listen to them, resuming my futile journey of finding that "something",.. again lost in the thought ... again embraced by the uncertainty and comforted by the familiar UNKNOWN.. © 2025 Sylvaine AetherwynAuthor's Note
