To The Unknown

To The Unknown

A Poem by Dean

Our joyous friend who mocks us not,
but shrouds us with each doubt
that we have gathered lovingly, and
now confront with helpless resignation--

it is a paradox that blesses
with a truth unwelcome;
every answer flies from us,
condemned by virtue of its birth.

It is vanity that feeds us,
sets the winnowing blade yet finer still.
Thought no longer is our refuge;
Power, our only quest.

We are the keepers of the day...wait...
The mist upon the mountain stirs a moment.
There is the pinnacle!
stark, alone, silent ever...

Let it go.

The dreams in sleep can indeed evoke powerful memories and emotion!

I think mankind ignores the pinnacle but chooses to plough his own furrow and not necessarily making a very good job of it !

The journey to the unknown , the paradoxes of life , the doubts of faith in shrouds , the mists covering our eyes , the refuge to power in vanity are all evident in this wonderful write...Thank you for sharing your great philosophy , sir...:)

We like sheep have gone astray .. .. maybe

Hell .. I don't know

I think faith means we don't truly know....

We tell ourselves, we are doing/thinking righteously ..

I know I probably got it wrong .. but I tried ..

nobody gets it wrong...it is opinion. You, particularly, as I intended.

What ? ......... :)
Faith has no doubts. Without doubts, faith does not move.

I think faith, at its best, IS doubt. It is my creed.
I could drink your words and never feel thirsty again, Dean.

"It is vanity that feeds us,
sets the winnowing blade yet finer still.
Thought no longer is our refuge;
Power, our only quest."

My best,
Kelly
