Running Away from Me

Running Away from Me

A Poem by Zach Gordano
"

A song a friend and I wrote a while ago, which is just making sense now.

"
She poisoned the well, but I can't tell,
Or maybe I don't care.
He's reached the sun, and now he's done
But where's the lesson learned?
A simple tale of those who fail,
It seems way too typical.
All that remains is what has changed,
And we are forced to rebuild.

All that I know is just running away from me.
And all that I want is in the back of my mind
The path is blocked, and I fear that I just cannot see.
And all that I lost is out there to find me.

Down falls the night, gone with the light,
And we are left all alone.
I long to hold what has been sold,
It will not be done.
A twist of fate, that came too late,
No one to help us now.
Get on your knees, cry and plead to the Flower King!

All that I know is just running away from me.
And all that I want is in the back of my mind
The path is blocked, and I fear that I just cannot see.
And all that I lost is out there to find me.
