The Poet of Yesterday

 

 

The poet of yesterday

 must have been a visionary

expressing the pain and struggles

going on around

and seeing how if there

 is peace

it is only temporary

knowing that the earth

 turns as we stand still

While the universe captures

 every 360 degree turn

bringing us back to where

 we started from

Knowing that

 the bubble must be punctured

 if we are to make a change

Knowing that someone

 must take a stand

 for the iniquities and inconsistencies

of the powers-that-be

The Poet of Yesterday

 knew

that someone would remember

 the words expressed

Only to fulfill the prophecy

 by doing nothing

 

Besides,

 what good is it

 to be a member

 of something

 and not be an

 active

Participant?
