In the name of the Father

In the name of the Father

A Poem by TTBoy28

Little girl

Even in age she is still naive

Absent for most of what should have been

her joyous and frolicking moments

she still revered him

more so than she did what he called the

Suez Canal

She had but one name for him

and his position

yet the canal helped her escape wrath and any

discomfort that

befell her of callers who knew

Who knew of his invisibility

Still

she had but one name for him

Growing intently on seeing the other dry up

Up and out she grew

Yet his arrogance was more befitting for

a spontaneous sketch of Cupid

And each caller left her until

she lost painfully

She gave

The Canal was swell again

Stronger prouder

Although it knew

It knew and tried to lead her transparent

and iridescent stronghold

to its bank to feel and witness their paternal bond

For her

She saw

She saw it

And she expanded again

with confidence even after being called upon

Again

And she polluted the Canal and dismissed

it

With confidence she gave her little one

his name

in hopes that this would cure his ailment

Yet

the only memory she would have of him

would be the one thing that would keep her up

at night and for the next many years

With no callers to call her

With the lovely Canal still flowing for her
