A Child

A Child

A Poem by TTBoy28

Sing me a song

of hope and joy

Dream me into

smiles

Carry me like

I'm a little boy

Guide me through

my trials

Offer me your

wisdom and knowledge

Force me to do

the right thing

If you can see me

through college

I believe you can

do anything

And if my life

should take a turn

For better or

for worse

Please don't let

your love for me burn

Or think of it

as a curse

Things don't always go

as planned

This we should

understand

Even diamonds in

the rough

Need a little

buff

Clutching a life

like claws

There's bound to be

a few flaws

And though we may

not always agree

That should be no

big deal

For the love in you

is what I see

And it's surely

what I feel
