A Real Doll

A Real Doll

A Poem by TTBoy28

I joined the group

of life-like dolls

Useless was talk

As my look said it all

They dressed me up

And dressed me down

I was the life

They could not have

Their mind was me

Never trouble

If left behind

How insecure

Flawless beauty

Who wants to make believe

Silky spun dreams

Ever so sweet

Permanent member of the club

That demands a still heart

Lay me low I don’t see

Raise me up to the world

Price me

Value my true maker

Break me

Must be insured

I melt with you

If we should burn

Shattered fine glass

Like bone to ash

To hold me

To love me

So in spite of

Then because of

It all

~ i never played with dolls... even as a little girl... there's something so 'unreal' about them... ~ i never grew up to be someone who was dolled up... nor do i get along with those who live the life of 'real-life' dolls... reality is too precious to me... i liked this piece a lot... it's good to read you again... :)
