The Most Brilliant DisguiseA Poem by TTBoy28The joke was on me Oh, you made it not so clear Only I was too awake to see Before I could blink, I would shed a tear
Changed your tune Time and time again Came and went away too soon Like we were some long lost kin
Whatever I heard It took the place of all your lies Thought I could at least get from base one to third But that was your most brilliant disguise
Helped you get your life in check Though you never said, “That’s okay” Looks like I was playing with a dirty deck So many chips placed and players anxious to play
Gave you my time And everything else I would later despise A lonely shot in the dark the size of a dime All a part of your most brilliant disguise
What a brilliant disguise You wear so well How long before I run out of tries And you see how far the fruit fell
