The Light

The Light

A Poem by TTBoy28

Empty pockets
Dreams still in hand
Unable to work the dockets
So far from being grand

Voices telling you where to go
What to do
What you should know
Still it’s trouble that has the clue

Though the stars
may shine at night
away from the cars and bars
alley ways sure do look right

Stay with the light
Hold on tight
With all your might
Everything will be allright
If you don’t lose sight

Rolling the dice
It might not be you
Everything’s not sugar and spice
Learn between the lies and what’s true

Though you may see a rainy day
That’s still no reason you can’t play
Just for the lack of a dollar
Too many and they’ll make you holler
Even louder

All that’s bright
Isn’t right
You’ll begin to see the light
Might not be today
But go on anyway
