Solitudes Embrace

Solitudes Embrace

A Poem by TTBoy28

What’s gone is gone

And the vapors have taken away

what the eyes of the world failed

to embrace

Chance encounters arrive

late in the game

Unknowingly offering solace

Smiles and bodily protrusion surface

On the surface

they save face for the moment

A touch would crush this soul

Sending it further into an abyss

that knows it better

Better than the air moving the leaves

that have replaced the weak before them

What can the sun do

that a friendly Hello can’t

When the drapes are drawn

it takes every bit of sorrow

to let life in

Still,

If only for a brief period

It is that which says it ends

There is no eraser that can undo

what has already been sent

Skewing the intention meant

Every bit of sorrow holds on tight

to what is

And what it is

is
