The Welcome

The Welcome

A Poem by TTBoy28

What else could I do
except look to You
I thought You were my world
Godless, If only I had a clue

Left me all alone
Even though You returned and stayed
How could my light have shown
when my spirit was all dismayed

Sunshine never shined in my room
It never had a chance to get in
My outside carried gloom
So much it became my best friend

All because You left me alone
Why did You leave me there alone

One baby stayed in your arms
Smiled at me out of pity
The folk saw through your charms
Dared you to walk through the city

A quick getaway
is what You needed
Away from all you greeted
and cheated

But I slowed You down
Upon your face
You forever wore a frown
Forced to take me away
Raining on your sunny day

Sunshine never shined in my room
It never had a chance to get in
My outside carried gloom
so long it became my best friend

All because You left me alone
Why wasn't I welcomed in Your home
