Understanding Me

Understanding Me

A Poem by ROXANE DORSEY

No one.  I tell you.
No one understands me.
I could be wrong but then
again, I'm right.  It's my life.
I conduct this here train.
Riding a locomotive past
legal speed of 1,000,000.
Those numbers won't
register and my life sure
don't when nothing adds up.
Do you understand me now?

I don't want to be negative. I have six sisters, three daughters and a wive. I don't understand one. Women. A combination of many things. I learn what my Grandfather did. Stay silence and don't complain. Woman can be testy or sweet? Thank you dear Roxane for the entertaining poem. Make me think and smile. My dear wife is working in her garden at 9 pm. I say nothing and read your work.

You are welcome my friend.
yes, i have had this feeling...like i missed my stop several thousand miles back...and am on the train to nowhere...
maybe for many poets it is like that...we are misunderstood...or at least feel we are.

love poetry since it has been embedded in my mind deeply way back when I was 4 years old. A very good reader in pre-school. Nursery rhymes tuned me in even deeper. more..
