Time in my handsA Story by Taciturn49In my cubicle sometimes things get very boring. Or I just avoid the customer calling me at the moment and that way avoid hearing him go on his tantrum, because his insurance claim is being denied. You pick-up a pen and realize it has no ink. You can’t write with it, so you throw it away. It once had ink and it accomplished its purpose, but now it no longer has any use. You could use it as a Q-tip of some sort. You can also use it as a musical instrument; tapping it against your desk and let the beat carry you away. How about using it to make holes on the dirt in the plant near your desk? No, let me just throw it away. It no longer serves a purpose. I can go to the neighborhood store and replace it with a new one. Even better; I can visit a bank or any office in the hospital or any real-estate office and just take one of their complimentary pens. They are free. I hope it has black ink. I like blue ink, but I rather write with one that has black ink. I also like pens that make that clicking sound when you want to bring the point out to write. Some pens just have a cap to them and you take the cap off and then write. I prefer to hear the clicking sound. Sometimes while writing, I just click the pen frequently and the sound just makes me think harder on what I am writing. Just to be sure I have the pen with the clicking sound; I am going to the store and buy one with the clicking mechanism. I rather spend the extra cash and not end with a free pen that doesn’t have the clicking sound to it. As long as I am going to the store, I think I will buy some chocolate. Chocolate calms me down and I can think more clearly.
So many varieties of chocolates available, but I just want some sweet chocolate without nuts, caramel, raisins and any other stuff they put in it in order to attract you to buy the chocolate. I just want plain chocolate. I just want it to melt in my mouth while I am writing and clicking my pen. Life is like ink in a pen. It slowly dries out and then the purpose is gone. It also is like chocolate. It slowly melts in your mouth till it no longer is there except for the sweet smell and the after taste. I want to savor my life so I will enjoy the chocolate melting in my mouth and the clicking sound of the pen. I think I’ll have a shot of Hennessey now. By TACITURN49
