Laying In Bed

Laying In Bed

A Poem by Josephine
"

I was falling asleep in class so to keep myself awake I wrote about sleeping

"

At first the touch is cold

Then I pull up the covers

And they seem to hold me close

Laying my head on the pillow

I feel some relief

The tension eases as I try to fall asleep

My mind races a mile per second

Sighing as I roll over…

I wish it was just a bit warmer

The blankets hug my body

Protecting me as I transition

Into the world of dreams and apparitions

It’s an escape from my life;

Being as free as I can be

I’m a horse now

Running wild and free

Sometimes

I even have wings!

A very good poem. Dreams allow us to win and be free from the craziness of real life. I like the set-up of this poem. Nothing better then a cozy warm bed and a lot of time to sleep. A excellent poem.
