In My Room Hiding

In My Room Hiding

A Poem by Kiara

My parents are downstairs fighting.
My sister is in the other room crying.
My brother is who knows where.
I'm in my room hiding.

Mom and Dad are yelling at my brother.
Cassidy is crying again.
Tristan is getting into trouble.
I'm in my room hiding.

Dad is smoking again, Mom is sleeping.
Cassidy is in her room reading.
Tristan is playing video games.
I'm in my room hiding.

My cats are upstairs with me.
My dogs are being yelled at by Dad.
My mom is busy finding ways to ground me.
Tristan and Cassidy are in the kitchen,
Upset and angry at our father.
I'm in my room hiding,
In my room crying,
In my room wishing I was dying.
