"Friends"

"Friends"

A Poem by Kiara

I sit at the lunch table,
My hands empty.
I'm not hungry,
I'm lonely.
My best friend sits at a different table.
This is where we always sit.
The rest of the group sits
With her.
I can't take it.
I stand up,
Holding back tears,
Stumbling blindly through the doors,
Faintly hearing someone call my name
Until I reach the bathroom.
I shove the door aside,
Nearly collapsing as I seek shelter
From those eyes.
Those unseeing eyes.
A girl comes in.
We don't really talk
But I know her.
She asks if I'm okay,
I just step loser and hug her.
She hugs me back,
Letting my tears get her sweater all wet.
She invites me to sit with her for lunch.
I do,
But I would really like to be alone.
I can't let anyone see.
They have to remain unseeing.

This displays a deep emotional picture of pain and sorrow. I found found that many situations like these can be controlled and brought under our subjection by taking a leadership role in the friendship process. Sometimes the greatest thing we will overcome is ourselves. I would have walked to the other table and introduced myself. True friends will accept you, the false ones will epose themselves by their actions.

Good job Taylor:)

The best type of friends are those that will show up and offer comfort, even before they know you.

A powerful piece of poetry that gives a look into youthful society. Thanks for sharing.
