I Don't Want to be Right

I Don't Want to be Right

A Poem by Kiara
"

For Ben

"

You dodge every attempt I make at conversation.

I send a text,

You send an excuse.

I ask a question,

You avoid answering.

I tell you something sweet,

You ignore it.

I get upset,

You ignore it.

I get angry,

You wait for a little bit,

And then complain about me being upset.

I ask why you don't want me anymore.

You tell me that you're sick of my "emotional bullshit."

I blame you,

Ask if you even want to talk to me.

You avoid answering.

I mention that you said we could still be friends.

Apparently you "hardly talk to your friends."

I ask why you would never visit.

You answer "Every f*****g time I saw you,

You cried and wouldn't let me go."

I did that because I was afraid that,

At some point,

You wouldn't come back.

Now you won't even speak to me,

So I guess I'm right....
