Leaning Over the Ledge

Leaning Over the Ledge

A Poem by Kiara

I didn't realize

How close I am to falling apart,

How far I'm leaning over the ledge.

Soon I'll lose my footing,

Slip and fall.

Everything will just come crashing down,

And still too few will care.

The friends who once cared

Have moved on,

Up and away from me.

They've gotten boyfriends and girlfriends

And I'm spending every night alone,

Trapped with thoughts that tear me apart.

When will they be satisfied?

Do I have to die first?
Will they still crave more destruction?

They must,
For they are relentless,

But how would my thoughts bring pain

If I'm not here to suffer it?
