My Shadows

My Shadows

A Poem by Kiara

As I lay here

In bed

I search the walls

For the Shadows.

These Shadows here,

They welcome me

Every day

With  evil dark smiles.

Hello my Shadows,

Come rest with me

Lay right here

In my bed.

They don’t threaten to attack

For the one reason

For the only reason.

I am one of them.

Now we must go.

We must eat and drink

And drink and eat

Until the morning comes.

We raid the night

We must find food

For our ever empty stomachs.

We must find blood.

This dark disease has a cure

But why be cured when

This is the other option?

We are Shadows of the night.

Drink a drop of blood and wine.

Drink a drop of agonized screams.

Hatred lives in our souls and hearts,

Or at least where they should be.

We rest at home,

The night growing old.

Our thirst still rests unquenched.

Our hearts forever empty.

Hello my Shadows,

Come rest with me

Lay right here

In my bed.
