The Father

The Father

A Poem by Kiara

Why does he stand there?

He stands for her.

He stands for the mother.

He doesn’t care.

He won’t protect us.

He has no trouble

But we, his kids, are piles of rubble.

We’re not worth the fuss.

He cares about mom,

Not about a kid.

Soon, of us he will be rid.

He only cares about mom.
