Guilty Until Proven Innocent

Guilty Until Proven Innocent

A Poem by Kiara

Innocent Until Proven Guilty,

They say,

But with me, it doesn’t go that way.

I don’t see why I’m different,

I don’t see why…

Why do the rules apply to them and not I?

People should be quiet

And not talk about me.

They should shut up and just let me be.

I long to be unafraid,

And live life

Like life

Should be.
