Revenge

Revenge

A Poem by Kiara

Every window in this house

Is shattered.

The bullets of the gun

Drown in pools of blood

From their dying hosts.

Revenge is so sweet

Like the flames licking

At the house siding.

Crazy as I seem,

I wonder what happened to that rule.

Treat others how you want to be treated.

I treated them the way they tried to treat me.

At least I made it more painless than they did for me.

It's beautiful!! From a "childhood firebug" to now, I don't know of a poem I can recall that both "forgive me for this" turned me on, and also had such raw intensity that is not FAKED like I see in other poems that try to match that fever of hate and disgust, Taylor!! My mom thought she would rid my rage of wanting revenge and violent tendencies to change by putting me into Drum Corps which actually worked. I played the Baritone for years, wrote music for it, and ending up scoring a symphony with a friend, got rid of the rage, and learned to play about 14 instruments!! "licking the siding" with that fire.... that was gorgeous!! Total and very personal destruction there; it can't be seen by those who have never been in that situation to realize just how final and beautiful that feeling can be when you get sick of sticking yourself with a blade, and wrapping your "jewels" in the tightest rope you can find before you go to school that day!! Beautiful, Taylor...... the POEM, not just your looks. lol This is, so far, my favorite of yours!! I might have to erase a whole bunch of my "favs" on my list to find this one now. xoxox -Your Mark
