Guilt Flowers

Guilt Flowers

A Poem by Kiara

I step out of the room,
Failure written upon my face.
A letter S is written in the corner of my paper.
I received a silver.
I deserved a participation.
Tears rolled down my face.
Why was I crying at something so stupid?
I knew I couldn't do it.
I didn't practice enough.
Sweat glistened on my forehead,
And covered my back.
I had been nervous.
A friend bought me a flower.
It was my guilt flower,
For I knew I could never deserve it.
Later, I picked up my guilt medal
And my father handed me
Another
Guilt
Flower.
I carried all my guilt
Home.
Now it lies throughout the house,
Welcome.

Don't bring yourself down like that Taylor. You still have two more years of high school to earn that gold and in your years to come.
