Heartbreak

Heartbreak

A Poem by Kiara

I write this poem for you

As I type

Trying so hard not to cry

In front of my grandpa.

I try to hide the tears

Spilling swiftly,

Relentlessly.

I ignore your texts

Because I can’t look at them.

I can’t stop my heart from

Breaking

When I see those words from you.

I love you,

But you lied to me.

How do I know

I’m not a lie.

How do I know

I’m the only one?

How could I think

You really loved me?

How could I wish

You really cared?
