Abandoned

Abandoned

A Poem by Tracie D'Angelo
"

Written 2 July 1991

"

In a trash heap of unfulfilled dreams

Two eyes underneath an old tire

“Who are you?” I cried

“And tell me why do you hide?”

This my home, my friend

And I hope for not too long

I’ve been battered and bruised

And severely beaten on

I’ve cried all my tears

For unworthy lives

I’ve smiled my last smile

When I discovered the lies

I will not come out

I can’t find a reason

I won’t kick or shout

And I’m tired of being

I’m no longer wanted

No one has called

I’m no longer looked for

Alone I must fall

You see the world can take care of it’s own

When everyone’s dead hate will cease

I’ve tried to stop what I don’t condone

And friend...in this trash heap... lives Peace

A nice poem….
Feeling of being abandoned …..is really painful….
The line…”when everyone is dead hate will cease” touched me….
Excellent write…

Really well written, a poem like a story. It was easy to read, too. I liked it a lot.
