I Never

Something new I wrote today hope it's well received.

I try to write what sounds pretty, but it has no intrinsic beauty.

I never claimed to be a poet, just an enthusiast.

I’m no deeper than an empty well, but not quite as shallow as a newly made rain puddle.

What I do can somehow be traced back to words I’ve always idolized.

I never claim to be more than a man, but always try to achieve the status of a god.

When I try to think in order to grow I instead digress on a different road.

The reason for these words is not to be seen in a bright light.

Rather what you read is for my thoughts to be freed.

This I like ... it has a warm and fuzzy humbleness to it, not many who walk this earth are really in touch with what it means to be truly humble in my wee opinion

this poem says 'I am here' and that's what it is ... 'I am me' take it or leave it .....

'I never claim to be more than a man, but always try to achieve the status of a god' this phrase in particular reminded me of Socrates 'All I know is I know nothing' ... and you know it reminds me of God is everywhere so you are already he ...

I am drawn to your words ... perhaps it is because when I meet people and they compliment me I will say 'I am just me' they always misconstrue this to think that somehow I may be undermining myself ... but really just me is all I be .... :)
