Peace is the forgotten dream

3rd poem in For a series

Peace is the forgotten dream.

Forgotten in the grand scheme.

 

All because the men in charge control the theme.

Making everything they say and do supreme.

 

Sending everyone below them downstream.

Now all future generations can hope to do is redeem.

Author's Note

The idea for this poem in the series is to be in the format of a couplet epigram. Just wanted to do 6 lines so I tweaked the normal format a little and put it in an AA rhyme scheme.

this very thought has been suffocating my entire essence of late ... simple words that carry a frightening truth ... and we the people lose our voices as the piles money filter out the noise in government ...
