Understanding is the last page of a book

Last entry in Set up for a Series. Was a fun experiment and I learned a lot, particularly about my style.

Reading and reading but a plot too thick to ever find its theme.

A devious villain with a dubious scheme.

A diluted hero with and empty headed dream.

A misguided sidekick with a shrieking scream.

A cliché written to be a best seller.

But not a single copy is brought to the teller.

A series that could never be a fad.

A book with a fan base never to be had.

A large industry with a ridiculous duality.

A popularity not realized due to a formality.

All a shame, a plot like a misty morning on a lake.

Revealed to be great if a reader sees the risk they should take.

For the last page should have been the first for the book’s sake.

This poem, I just tried throwing in my own style, a bit of comedy, commentary, and also a steady rhyme scheme.
