FOR A DEPARTED SON.

FOR A DEPARTED SON.

A Poem by Terry Collett
"

A poem in memory of our first born son who died suddenly in 27th January 2014 aged 29.

"

Grant me a corner

in which to cry;

through joyous eyes

I saw my son born,

through bleeding eyes

I watched him die.

Grant me a corner

in which to cry.

Permit me a quiet place;

let tender fingers

sew together

a wounded heart,

which through

my son's death,

has been torn apart.

Permit me

a healing place.

Allow me a soft bed

on which to rest;

let someone soothe

my aching brow;

keep the memory

of my first born son,

not amidst the dry reeds

or dull souls,

but amongst the best.

Allow me a bed

on which to rest.

I reviewed "Ole" not knowing his death was so recent. My heart absolutely breaks for you as I write this review through my tears. You write so beautifully and lovingly about Ole. Your writing will always keep his memory alive. My wish for you is that peace will replace your grief and the good memories of Ole will sustain you in what must be the most difficult time of your life. My own son has come close to death many times. I have somehow found the strength to pull the knife from my heart many times and keep going. If I could, I would pull the knife from your heart so that your healing may begin. Blessings.

If I could I'd ask time pass, enough to take your grief at last, to make time be, just the sweet happy memory... of Oliver...
May just knowing others care enough to shed tears at your loss and for you...provide that bed of rest that is wished for you...
I am positive Oliver will walk,not among dry reeds, but in full sunshine reflecting his sweet soul!
Bless you Terry...your written tribute here is full of grief and love and spoken only as you have been gifted to speak...
