JOHNNY AND THE OLD DAME

JOHNNY AND THE OLD DAME

A Poem by Terry Collett
"

A MAN AND A N OLD DAME IN A SUPERSTORE

"

Johnny supposed the dame
was touching late fifties
maybe older
but she looked as if

she might be younger
or at least she had
the impression that
she could be

she walked down an aisle
of the superstore
pushing a trolley
with meat and booze

and cereal and bread
and such
she paused
by the frozen foods stuff

and looked at him
he smiled his smile
and she smiled at him
and lingered there

maybe thinking herself
catching an attention
she didn't get much anymore
and posed a bit

pushing her rather
tired looking breasts
and putting a hand
on her hip(replacement maybe)

Johnny walked on
to the sugar and flour section
and looked back
and she'd moved on

he caught sight
of her as she turned a corner
from the back she looked
maybe forty plus

cute a*s
slim waist
then she was gone
out of sight

he walked on
to the bread
and rolls section
and bought a white uncut

he liked the look
of the dame
but
but

but.
