SEE YOU 1961

SEE YOU 1961

A Poem by Terry Collett
"

A BOY AND GIRL AT SCHOOL IN 1961

"

I see you
Lizbeth
in the corridor

at school
on my way
to woodwork

With Mr Gee
I’m with Jupp
and you're

standing there
with some other girl
she thin

black haired
wearing glasses
you see me

and smile
your eyes bright
focusing on me

as I pass
your red hair
tied tight

in a bun
see you later?
you say

as I walk
on my way
out of school?

you ask
if I can
I say

and walk on
who's she?
Jupp says

the red haired bit
heard she's
up for it

he adds
smiling a broad grin
up for what?

I say
looking away
noticing you

walking
the other way
your body

moving sexily
with the your hips
slow sway.
