Beyond the Darkness.

Beyond the Darkness.

A Poem by Terry Collett

Beyond the darkness, what then?

More darkness or maybe light,

or perhaps nothing at all.

The treadmill of all our lives,

the ever moving movement,

new horizons that come up

but also quietly go,

leaving behind nothing new,

just an illusion of such.

All of human history

with its miseries and deaths,

with its conquests and defeats

staining the pages of life,

pretending there's a purpose

to the ever unfolding

history of all mankind,

some light at the end of life,

some reward for enduring

the existence of being,

something beyond the darkness,

a new light for our seeing.
