No More Sid 1971.

No More Sid 1971.

A Poem by Terry Collett

They said that Sid
had died in the night.
I would miss the old boy
and his gentle manners
and him singing
the Red Flag
before lying down to sleep
or in his weekly bath.
Someone else
will have his bed
and room now
and all that
will be left of him
is his memory in my head
and he lying
beneath some earth
among the dead.
