Nights & NightsA Poem by Terry CollettLast night she dreamt she slept with Freud but he would talk so and sought to delve into her psyche when all she wanted was a bit of sex. The night before she dreamt she slept with Kafka having read his books from cover to cover but he demisssd his books and claimed he was a lousy lover. Two nights before she dreamt she slept with Bukowski sharing his booze and cigarettes and listened as he spoke of his racing bets. Tonight she hopes to dream and be in bed with Keats or Shelley or Byron's touch or sense Tennyson's beard against her breast and in his arms to rest.
